Flash Networks Deploys into Three Major Mobile Operators

Flash Networks today announced that it has successfully deployed the fully virtualized vHarmony optimization platform at three major mobile operators.

Edison, New Jersey, Sep 26, 2017 – Flash Networks, a leader in mobile internet optimization, security and engagement solutions, today announced that it has successfully deployed the fully virtualized vHarmony optimization platform at three major mobile operators.  The first customer is a major telecoms group that deployed vHarmony seamlessly into the their vEPC architecture.  The integrated, fully virtualized solution enables flexible, dynamic optimization with no capacity penalty and all the benefits expected from a virtualized solution including: ease-of-deployment, healing, scaling, redundancy and Service Function Chaining (SFC) capabilities.

vHarmony is an ETSI standard, MANO compliant VNF with independent lifecycle management and implementation of Ve-Vnfm-xx interfaces. This compliance enables smooth integration with operator’s selected vEPC vendor and VNF manager. The remaining two operators deployed vHarmony as a vertical virtualized island into their existing mobile core as a significant milestone towards a fully virtualized EPC.

Allaying carrier concerns regarding capacity degradation when migrating from BMT to virtual environment, the Flash Networks vHarmony utilizes enhanced platform awareness and has demonstrated significant improvement in traffic processing when running at virtual environment. vHarmony is deployed as a data-plane VNF and part of a vEPC service chain, seamlessly integrated using service function chaining and dynamic routing capabilities.

The solution has been tested and implemented alongside our leading NFV/SDN partners such as ZTE, Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei and supports integration with industry stalwarts such as Openstack, OpenDaylight, KVM and VMware.  The benefits of the Harmony fully virtualized platform include:

  • On-demand video, content and radio optimization service functions
  • Significantly lower TCO and ease of deployment
  • Integration with industry standard VNF Managers
  • Full elastic integration into vEPC architecture

Increasingly attracted by flexibility and  control, the ability to deploy elastic on-demand optimization without concern for the underlining infrastructure enables our customers to focus purely on the future value of optimization ,” said Dror Shlomo, VP Product at Flash Networks. “Real-world experience has proven that an open, standards-based approach to virtualization is a key success. While there is a natural progression towards fully integrated virtualized solution, customers are choosing their own path and flexibility is paramount.”
