Sat-Tel Corporation Selects Flash Networks

Sat-Tel Corporation announced today the signing of a strategic partnership and distribution agreement with Flash Networks.

RED DEER, ALBERTA, CANADA (September 11, 2000) - Sat-Tel Corporation (CDNX: SAJ) announced today the signing of a strategic partnership and distribution agreement with Flash Networks, a global provider of Internet acceleration software for satellite and wireless data networks. Sat-Tel selected Flash Networks' NettGain™ family of products to significantly accelerate the speed of its mobile Internet product, which will be marketed initially in Canada.

Sat-Tel will use NettGain software in conjunction with the introduction of a new Internet service offering to mobile markets, which include commercial and recreational vehicle industries. With the implementation of NettGain, Sat-Tel expects to increase throughput and enhance performance of standard cellular and CDPD connections by up to 300 percent over standard TCP/IP transmission. With two-way and hybrid satellite networks, users can see performance improvements up to 400 percent.

Customers with traditional cellular phones and a national one-rate plan with any carrier can subscribe to Sat-Tel's service, which starts at $39.00 per month. By adding a data modem to a laptop or a satellite adapter card to a computer, performance increases up to 1,800 percent can be expected. As consumers become increasingly more connected to the Internet and the demand for faster Internet connections mount, Sat-Tel believes that its new service will provide the portability, speed, throughput, and reliability to meet the needs of the technologically advancing mobile market.

"We chose to implement Flash Networks' acceleration technology because we were impressed by network efficiency improvements that were achieved using NettGain," said Kim B. Walker, president and CEO of Sat-Tel. "Beyond providing a superior product to our end users, our relationship with Flash Networks will significantly strengthen Sat-Tel's overall position and in turn provide value to the wireless world. By virtue of this strategic partnership agreement, implementing NettGain will allow us to provide acceleration software to cellular or satellite linked customers anywhere in the world."

"Sat-Tel Corporation will have a major role in the distribution of the NettGain product in Canada, as well as various vertical markets," said P.K. Prasanna, president of Flash Networks, Inc.

"Sat-Tel Corporation has developed a vertical market niche that will allow both companies to expand quickly into new marketplaces, offering the end user maximum throughput capabilities for the existing infrastructures."
