Flash Networks Launches Content Control for Safer Mobile Browsing

Flash Networks has launched a content control solution that enables operators to provide safe browsing on the mobile internet.

Herzlia, Israel, February 5th, 2006 – Flash Networks, a leading provider of mobile Internet Quality of Experience (QoE) solutions, today announced that it has launched a content control solution that enables operators to provide safe browsing on the mobile internet in response to strong consumer demand for parental controls and increased regulatory pressure. Flash Networks’ solution is unique in that it provides both cross checking of a URL database and real time analysis of content, for the most comprehensive control. The new solution is already deployed at a North American Tier 1 operator.

Using Flash Networks Content Control, operators can block access to inappropriate content by benefiting from the combination of two key filtering technologies:

Static content filtering – Using the industry’s most comprehensive filtering database including over 60 million URLs, and an operator’s black/white list of inaccessible/accessible sites, this feature automatically blocks sites that are categorized as having harmful content.
Dynamic content filtering – For sites that are known to produce both appropriate and inappropriate content, high-speed artificial intelligence determines in real-time whether or not the web site includes content that should be blocked.

This latest offering is part of Flash Networks’ strategy to improve the Mobile Internet Quality of Experience for increased data usage and is available with Flash Networks data acceleration platform, NettGain™. Content Control is provided in partnership with Rulespace, the world leader in content categorization.

Liam Galin, CEO of Flash Networks, commented: “Safe mobile browsing provides additional customer satisfaction and a greater likelihood that parents will make data services available to their children. The availability of mobile Internet to youth is an important element for increasing customer usage and loyalty. Working with RuleSpace we have produced the best Mobile content control product on the market by combining our marketing leading QoE solutions with their best-of-breed categorization services.”
