HOLMDEL, NJ and ROSELAND, NJ (September 25, 2000) — Flash Networks, Inc., a global provider of network-enhancement solutions, today announced a strategic agreement with Expand Networks, a leader in optimizing enterprise network performance. Expand’s Enterprise Caching technology, in combination with Flash Networks’ NettGain family of products, significantly improves the performance of network infrastructures for wireless and satellite applications. Leveraging the complementary technology from each company, Expand and Flash Networks will cooperate on joint sales and marketing efforts to deliver a more comprehensive network solution to bandwidth-constrained enterprises.
Expand’s Enterprise Caching technology combined with NettGain’s unique ability to improve network performance at the TCP layer of applications will provide overall increased network performance to joint customers. Expand’s customers will benefit from the implementation of NettGain, which overcomes the limitations of TCP over wireless and satellite links where packet loss, delay, limited bandwidth and asymmetric links can become constraining factors. Flash Networks’ customers will enjoy the additional performance improvement and bandwidth savings provided by Expand’s ACCELERATOR products and its unique enterprise caching features.
